Staying Safe Online

The internet is an excellent way to learn, to communicate and to have fun but with the pace of change so rapid nowadays, and with so many opportunities to get on the Internet with computers, tablets, consoles and phones it's important that everyone knows how avoid problems.

We work hard in school to educate our children and staff on how to stay safe online. A comprehensive e-safety curriculum is integrated into computing lessons for all year groups and reinforced across the curriculum. We also put in place a web content filter and rules about online behaviour.
We share information with parents to support them in keeping children safe online outside school.
Children are always supervised when they use the internet in school and use school devices with filters applied. Children are not permitted to use their own phones in school - any brought in should be handed to the class teacher for safe keeping during the day.
Sometimes problems arise with unsupervised use of the internet and social media amongst children out of school so we ask for your help as we strive to keep all our children safe and happy.
