SIAMS

What is SIAMS?

SIAMS stands for the 'Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools'. Under section 48 of the Education act 2005 the school inspected to explore the ways in which each school's theologically rooted Christian vision drives its work. It does this by seeking answers to six key questions:

IQ1: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision enable pupils and adults to flourish?

IQ2: How does the curriculum reflect the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision?

IQ3: How is collective worship enabling pupils and adults to flourish spiritually?

IQ4: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision create a culture in which pupils and adults are treated well?

IQ5: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision create an active culture of justice and responsibility?

IQ6: Is the religious education curriculum effective (with reference to the expectations set out in the Church of England’s Statement of Entitlement for Religious Education)?

At the beginning of November, Slinfold CE Primary School and Pre-School was inspected, please find our wonderful report below:

What they said:

Slinfold’s distinctly Christian vision is at the heart of this popular village school with increasing numbers of pupils being admitted.

Effective staff support, welfare and training enable them to flourish and promote the school’s ambitions for the pupils.

The vision deeply underpins the school’s impressive range of exemplary curriculum provision and support strategies.

The vision of ‘caring for one another’ is tangibly radiated in the school’s deeply caring and nurturing ethos.

Pupils are respectful and polite to adults, and compassionately care for each other, in England and Wales especially younger pupils at breaktimes.

Well-planned curriculum opportunities enable pupils to explore ‘big questions’ about justice and responsibility.
