Hamble

Welcome to Hamble Class

Welcome to Hamble Class! Starting school is an extremely special milestone in a child’s life and our priority at Slinfold is to ensure that we create a safe and happy environment for every child to thrive in. We believe that learning is practical, challenging and most importantly, fun!

We are passionate about outdoor learning and are extremely fortunate to have access to such wonderful outdoor environments within the school. We have our own outdoor area, which we share with Pre-school, and it reflects the needs of the children alongside the curriculum objectives. The children can ‘free-flow’ between the indoor and outdoor classroom during their independent learning time. Our Mud kitchen is often a firm favourite with our children!

Our curriculum is taught through whole class inputs, adult led focus groups and a well-resourced, and planned for, environment. Staff work alongside the children to encourage deeper thinking, challenge next steps and support social communication

Independent learning time allows children the opportunity to practise their own theories and explore new learning in a safe environment. Being able to ‘trial and error’ new concepts allows them to deepen their understanding and embed new learning in a more age appropriate context. We believe that by encouraging independence from a young age, it will enable children to become active learners; full of curiosity and courage to challenge and problem solve.

In Hamble, we endeavour to model learning behaviours so that our children will grow to be inquisitive, resourceful, collaborative and independent.

Our class teachers are Mrs Tingley (Mon - Wed) and Mrs Holmes (Thur - Fri).

Hamble's teaching assistants are Mrs Bryder (Mon-Fri)
