Intent
English underpins our learning at Slinfold Church of England Primary School. We aim to equip children with the tools to become effective communicators through developing spoken and written skills. We promote a love of reading and writing through the use of high quality texts, shared reading and embedding our reading skills such as inferring. Our carefully sequenced, balanced curriculum, underpinned by inclusive practice, provides children with opportunities to build on their experiences.
Author Visit - Simon Packham
We were thrilled to welcome Simon Packham to our school this week! He captivated students with stories about his childhood, past careers and current writing journey's. He shared insights into the creative and editing process, and answered thoughtful questions from our young readers. The visit sparked excitement about reading and writing across Year 5 and 6. Thank you, Simon Packham, for inspiring the next generation of storytellers!
