Welcome to Brook Class - Pre-School
The Pre-School is an integral part of Slinfold CE Primary School and is situated in a purpose-built classroom on the school site. The children make use of all the school's facilities and take part in many whole-school events.
We are open 5 days per week from 8:40am - 3.10pm (term-time only).
You can contact us through the school office on 01403 790253 or via email
30 hours funded places are available at our Pre-School.
Our Aims
- To provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age;
- To create a welcoming, safe and stimulating environment;
- To enable children to enjoy learning through play, to grow in confidence and to fulfil their potential;
- To provide children with the opportunity to join with others to play, work and learn together;
- To offer a service that promotes equality and values diversity.
Our Approach
The care and education we offer helps children to learn through play by providing interesting activities for the children that are appropriate for their age and stage of development.
All children are individuals and this is reflected in our child-centred approach to play and learning. We promote children's learning in a safe, fun and stimulating environment that is centred around their individual needs and requirements.
Above all, we aim to make Slinfold Pre-School 'a fun place to learn'.
Funding
Free Entitlement Funding (FE Funding)
Some children may be eligible for funded places from the age of two, depending on their family circumstances and criteria set by the government. If you are unsure whether your child qualifies for this funding, our office team will be happy to offer guidance and support with checking eligibility and the application process.
From the start of the term following their third birthday, all children are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education per week, in line with current government provision. At our setting, each session lasts for three hours, and families can typically choose how to use their funded hours, either as full days or a combination of morning and/or afternoon sessions, depending on availability. We aim to offer flexibility where possible to support family needs, while ensuring that all children benefit fully from a consistent, high-quality early years experience.
