Rother Class

Hello from Mrs Salter

Picture
My name is Mrs Salter - welcome to the Rother class page.
Rother is made up of children from Year 5 & 6 and this term we will be learning through the topic: Curious Creatures based on the book The Atlas of Monsters.
Mrs Ager and Mrs Fabb-Seeley also work in Rother and support our learning throughout the week -
do not hesitate to come and talk to us if you have
                               any questions.

Things to remember...

Homework
Homework is set on a Friday and is due back the following Thursday. Homework may be related to our current classroom learning or used to revisit, and help us assess children's understanding of previous learning.
Reading Journal, Reading Books & Reading Rockets
Reading Journals need to be brought into school every day as we use them to record some of our class reading activities. On a Friday, the journal will be collected in and we look for at least 5 reading reflections recorded. If five comments are achieved, children make their way up our class Reading Rockets challenge  display. If children make it to the top rocket by the end of term - this is celebrated in celebration worship. Do remember that we love to see parental comments in the journals too.

PE kit Our current PE slots are on Wednesday and Fridays but we ask that PE kit is kept in school all week.  We will encourage the children to take them home for a wash every now and again!

Communication

Please encourage the children to come and talk to us if they are worried about anything.  Similarly, if you have any concerns, please do come and talk to us ASAP.  It is beneficial to your child that we communicate effectively and the classroom door is always open.
