![]() What a wonderful experience for year 4, 5 and 6 children and adults on Friday. The walk from Billingshurst to the village hall was exhausting for some children, but they all managed it. At the village hall the children were met by some lovely ladies from HAODS, who were suitably dressed, who picked some children to work on the farm and in the Manor House. I also had to pick some children to live with me at the school house. They weren’t that keen to be chosen especially as I’d said they would have at least 2 hours of extra homework! During the afternoon children prepared our evening meal of sausage, mash and carrots followed by bread and butter pudding. They also had to defuse a bomb and learned how to Jitterbug. The sleepover went very well and by 10.00pm most children were asleep. Luckily no one woke too early and we had time for bread and jam for breakfast in true war time style. My very grateful thanks to all the staff who made this experience so very special and in particular the ‘sleep over team’- Mrs Braun, Mrs Hamer, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Richmond. I’m sure you all slept so much better on Saturday night. I know I did!
