Summer Fair

9/6/2015

Summer FThe final total is looking at just over £6100, which I’m sure you will agree is absolutely fantastic. I know I have said thank you before, but the committee really need to be applauded for all their
hard work in organising the Fair. It is a huge task and it does make such a difference when people
volunteer and help over the weekend.
The PTA have very kindly agreed to fund two major improvements to our school. The first is to create an
outside area at the back of Medway class. This new area is also going to incorporate a stage area for
outside performances and all the whole school and Pre-school will be able to use and enjoy this area. Work will start on this during the summer holidays.
The second improvement is to repair and renew the bridge and decking areas in the Environmental Area.
John Burrell recognised that this area needed some major work and with the funding from the PTA this can
now go ahead. The PTA are match funding the contribution from school and a charity. I will be writing
about this project in more details before the end of term.
Without all the wonderful efforts of our PTA committee and your support we wouldn’t be able to have
these extra facilities and building works.air

Well done if you have sold your raffle tickets already. You can always ask for extra books if you need some more; just ask one of the committee members. Thank you for all the donations last week. More donations of jam jars full of sweets or small toys and chocolate for the chocolate tombola would still be greatly appreciated. We would also be very grateful for more volunteers to man stalls. Please can you let any committee member know if you can help out? Your offers will be very gratefully received.

Summer Fair

22/5/2014

Thank you to everyone who supported our summer fair yesterday. I hope you all enjoyed it. What a fantastic day! The weather was beautiful, the children’s dancing, singing and djembe playing was brilliant, the stalls were exciting, the food was great and we didn’t run out of ice cream! As always, a huge amount of effort goes into organising a summer fair and we have a dedicated and hard working committee who deserve lots of thanks. So a very big thank you in particular to Amanda Ager, Zoe Taylor, ZoeSavage, Emma Collins and Andrea Webb who all worked tirelessly. I also want to thank the rest of the committee who also worked incredibly hard as well over the weekend. I think you all deserve a well-deserved rest before you start planning the next fundraiser. On Saturday there were 20 parents all helping to set up the fair and about the same number on Sunday clearing and tidying up. So thank you all and it just goes to prove that many hands do make light work. It has been a very busy weekend, but I hope that you all enjoyed the day and as soon as I have an idea of how much was raised I will let you know. Thank you again to everyone who supported us.

Mrs Hogarth-Smith flies over

11/7/2013

Those of you who remember Mrs Hogarth-Smith who retired from teaching at Slinfold a few years ago may be interested to know she was recently finally able to enjoy her retirement present from FOSSA—a flight in a small plane, piloted by Mr Cartner. She had a fabulous time during which she flew over Slinfold. Mrs H-S sent us these photos.
