If for any reason we need to inform parents and carers of school closure due to poor weather we will parent mail and text all families as well as posting here on the school website.
Finally our new garden in open. A vote was taken and the children have named it 'A Place for Peace'. The bench was donated by a former teacher, Mrs Evans and the garden was designed and built by Mr and Mrs Brown (Betsy's parents) and we would like to say a huge thank you to them for donating eveything in it! They both workedvery hard to make it happen so thank you.
The Christian Ambassadors were also involved in helping to pick the plants from the garden centre and in the designing. Reverend Sandra came to bless the garden and offically declare the garden open.
Thank you to everyone for wearing spots and stripes for £1 today and donating all your money for key rings and ears. The School Council team really appreciate your donations as this money really helps to those in need. Our treasurer of the School Council, Beth Chapman is pleased to announce that we raised £333.85. This breaks our record of £298.81 from last year. The colouring competition was also a huge success and we had so many entries this year. Well done to all those that took part in the colouring competition. It was so hard to judge it but in the end we decided on the following people:
Winner: Nualabelle P, Runner up: Tiegan P and Jamie A
Winner: Greta P, Runner up: Beth C and Rowan Y

Today in school, the children have been taking part in our 7 Billion Ideas 'World Changing IDEAS' programme which aims to inspire children to 'Think Big' and 'Dream Bigger' about the possibility of their ideas. This project has been set up and funded by our locality of schools and the Billingshurst Lions. The day consists of groups of children coming up with an idea that would change the world and then designing a prototype and pitching their idea to a group of judges. The winning idea in each school will then go on to a final to be held at The Weald school in October. Watch this space to find out which team will go through to the final. Thank you Lions -it's been a great day!
