On Friday 7th September, we went on a walk around Slinfold and along the Downs Link. We explored Slinfold's History, including looking for monuments from era's past. We started at the Lych Gate at St Peter's Church and headed towards Spring Lane and the old Slinfold Station. Our route carried us along the Downs Link and we joined onto Hayes Lane, where we enjoyed our delicious picnic on the village green. We looped back to school, past the Village Stores, Old Bakery and Old Post Office. It was great fun, and we learned lots about Slinfold's past.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new parents and children and those families returning to school at the start of this new academic year. What a beautiful summer we've had and I do hope you've all had a chance to relax and enjoy some downtime at home or away on holiday.
September is an important and exciting month in the school year as we look forward to learning new things, visiting new places, meeting new people and making new friends. Governors have been busy already preparing for the coming year by writing a new development plan focusing on the future strategic direction of the school, which we hope to share with you in the coming months. We also attended the INSET day on 3rd September and worked alongside staff sharing ideas for driving school improvement.
I am sure I shall be meeting with some of you over the best few weeks at various forthcoming events and in the meantime I trust your children are enjoying settling into their new classes. Welcome to all!
