Today we say goodbye and thank you to four much valued members of staff. Jane O’Donnell, Louise Martin, Craig Barton are leaving our school and Jo-Anna Burnell is taking maternity leave. To all we say a huge thank you for all their hard work, enthusiasm and dedication. Our very best wishes to them in their next ventures. Goodbye and good luck!
Mrs Hamer recently took four boys to Bag of Books in Lewes to buy some books that would particularly appeal to boys for the Cool Reading Club. The club has already had a few sessions on a Wednesday afternoon and is proving to be very popular. There are magazines and games to play as well as a very exciting choice of fiction and non-fiction books. Currently we have already purchased magazines that cover a wide range of interests such as cricket, running, surfing, motorbikes and fishing. If you have any suitable magazines that might appeal to boys please can you send them into school? Mrs Hamer will be pleased to receive any donations. Thank you.
Thank you to all the parents who attended on Tuesday evening. I hope you all found it useful and if you haven’t already done so please can you return your evaluations. Thank you for all the very positive comments that we have received. I know many parents would welcome a maths meeting so I will try to put a date in the diary for the autumn term.
The Weald Locality Music Festival was last Monday evening at The Weald and what a wonderful evening it was! Everyone who was there really enjoyed the songs that took us on a journey of popular musical development. I have never seen The Weald Sports Hall quite so packed and believe there were over 300 children on the stage. Well done to all the 19 children in our choir who took part and to Mrs Bickerton who practised with them. A truly memorable occasion.
