Today PC Beckley visited school. He talked to children in Years 3–6 about how to stay safe in both the real world and online. He showed some videos, explained how to keep our personal information private and what to do if we felt worried about anything. PC Beckley reminded the children that you need to be older than 13 to have accounts on some social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and You Tube and that we need to be kind on the Internet as we are in real life.
He also showed us the equipment he carries — his handcuffs, baton and pepper spray. Lots of children stayed behind to ask him questions.
What a great day! Book swap, book mark competitions, best dressed competitions and DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) were just some of the fun activities happening today at Slinfold.
We had a range of book characters from the little boy from Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers to Tom Sawyer.
Keep on reading everyone.....Book fair from the 14th.
