Miss Ballard had collected them at Fishers Farm and to begin with they had no legs, but after about a week back legs began to grow and before long, front legs too. Mrs O’Donnell read some books to Medway class that explained that tadpoles turn in to frogs and that once they are frogs they need to be able to hop around and come up for air.
Everyone agreed that the tadpoles should be set free before they turned in to frogs as otherwise they might die. Although it was sad, Medway knew that they had made a good choice.
Medway class are going back to the Environmental Area in a few weeks to see if they can find any frogs jumping around!
